Benzoin - Essential
Oil/Resin: Is good for skin lesions, cracked and chapped hands and feet,
chilblains athletes foot and ballet dancers cracked toes.
Bergamot - Is cheering, uplifting and being antiseptic it is good for acne and all infected skin conditions.
Chamomile - Soothing, calming
and anti-inflammatory. Good for dry, sensitive or red skin, it is
useful for skin eruptions such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, acne,
rashes and itching caused by allergies. It is an excellent remedy for
inflamed wounds, sores, scarring and burns.
Elemi - A resin which the
Egyptians used for embalming and has a long history in skin care,
especially for mature skin. It is rejuvenating, and appears to help
reduce wrinkles. Good for chapped skin and allergic rashes.
Frankincense - Rejuvenating,
especially good for mature skin by helping to tone sluggish tissue and
helps to slow down the appearance of wrinkles, preserving a youthful
complexion.
Geranium - Anti-septic,
promotes speedy healing It is a balancing oil which makes it good for
excessively dry or excessively oily skin conditions, chilblains,
athletes foot.
Grapefruit - Good for oily
skin and acne. It has a tonic effect on the skin and is balancing on the
emotions.
Jasmin - Particularly good for
hot, dry and sensitive skin.
Juniper - Good for skin
disorders, cleansing and toning. Juniper is especially useful for
treating oily skin and acne, it also is detoxifying for cellulite.
Lavender - Excellent skin
rejuvenator, good for stretch-marks. It is useful for inflammation,
dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis and boils.. Lavender is highly effective
for burns including sunburn, insect bites and stings. It is a soothing,
calming and balancing oil. It is antiseptic and bactericidal and helps
stimulate the immune system, contributing to the healing process by
stimulating the cells of a wound to regenerate more quickly.
Lemon - Antimicrobial,
antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, refreshing and cooling.
Lemon Myrtle - Anti-bacterial,
anti-fungal and anti-viral properties.
Lemongrass - Is a strong
antiseptic and bactericide. It is refreshing and deodorising.
Lime - Uplifting and toning -
especially good for skin prone to oiliness.
Mandarin - Antiseptic and
uplifting. and a very calming oil. It is safe to use during pregnancy
and can help prevent stretch marks.
Myrrh - Oil/Resin Is cooling
on the skin, it is good for mature skin, helping to preserve a youthful
complexion. Very useful in a hot, dry climate. Promotes healing in
wounds and reduces inflammation. Good for cracked and chapped skin.
Great for slow healing weepy wounds. It is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory
and anti-fungal. Good for athletes’ foot, and healing deep cracks. The
ancient Greek soldiers never went to battle without Myrrh paste in their
pouch.
Neroli - Used for all skin
types especially dry, red or irritated skin. Neroli stimulates the
regeneration of new cells and the elimination of old cells, improving
the elasticity of the skin. Helpful for all kinds of skin problems
including thread veins, scarring and stretch marks.
Orange - Dispels depression
and sadness. It is a cheering, bright and lively oil and helps disperse
gloomy thoughts, obsessions and a fear of the unknown, creating a
positive outlook.
Patchouli - Anti-inflammatory,
antiseptic, fungicidal and promotes cell regeneration. It is useful for
treating acne and cracked skin.
Petitgrain - Is like a tonic
for the skin. It is helpful for clearing up irritated and blemished
skin.
Rose - Good for mature, dry,
sensitive red or inflamed skin. It is an astringent, helps to reduce
thread veins. Rose rejuvenates and regenerates the skin.
Rosewood - Is a stimulant for
the immune system, a mild analgesic, and helps to relieve stress and
nervousness.
Spearmint - Is antiseptic,
insecticide and is uplifting for the mind.
Tea Tree - Is very effective
in clearing infected wounds, especially when there is pus. Tea Tree is
excellent for all skin problems, particularly those affecting the feet
(such as athletes foot, corns, calluses and verruca’s). It is also good
for warts and pierced ear and nail-bed infections. It is an effective
treatment for cold sores, shingles and chicken pox. A good cleanser and
deodorizer. Tea Tree oil is anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
Ylang Ylang - Is good for
stress related disorders and it has a balancing action on the secretion
of our natural sebum making it good for oily or dry skin.
Almond Oil -
Rich in protein, is very moisturizing, making it especially suitable for
eczema and dry itchy skin.
Aloe Vera Gel
- Has been used for centuries as a folk-cure for burns, cuts and skin
problems. Dermatologist’s research shows that Aloe Vera can save tissue
close to the heart of a bad burn by inhibiting the release of a
substance called thromboxane, which seems to be responsible for
cell-death and permanent scaring. Aloe also speeds the healing process
and stimulates the growth of new tissue.
Apricot Oil
- Is a good source of polyunsaturated fatty acids. It is a very light
texture making it very easily absorbed by the skin. Very good for
mature, dry, sensitive or inflamed skins.
Avocado Oil
- Is rich in many nutrients including Vitamin A and D, lecithin and
potassium. It is also rich in chlorophyll. It has moisturising
properties and is ideal for dry, mature skin and assists in the
treatment of climate-damaged, parched, undernourished or aging skin.
Beeswax
- Contains the same therapeutic properties in common with honey, royal
jelly and propolis.
Carrot Seed Oil
- Restores tone and elasticity to skin and helps to reduce wrinkles.
Good for blemished skin and will benefit both dry and oily skin types.
Carrot improves the complexion and imparts a more youthful appearance.
Castor Oil
- Is a good humectant by attracting and retaining moisture to the skin.
Cocoa Butter
- Is from the cocoa bean and is a by-product from making chocolate. It
is a good skin softener by leaving a protective layer that holds
moisture to the skin.
Coconut Oil - Low
molecular weight allows for high solubility and produces a fluffy
lather.
Grapefruit Seed Extract - A
natural preservative; pure vegetable antioxidant containing Vitamin C
and Glycerine. It has anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-septic,
deodorising and astringent qualities.
Grapeseed Oil
- Contains, Vitamins, minerals and proteins making it extremely good for
all skin types.
Jojoba Oil
- Is very similar in composition to human natural oils. It is an
excellent softening and nourishing oil which is easily and rapidly
absorbed by the skin.
Macadamia Nut Oil
- Anti-oxidant, prevents deterioration of cell membranes and is an
excellent conditioner which is easily absorbed into the skin.
Palm Oil – blends well with
olive and coconut oil to produce a well balanced and luxurious soap.
Pomace Olive Oil
- pressed from the pits as well as the fruit, it is a good moisturiser
and forms a breathable film on the skin to help prevent loss of internal
moisture.
Rice Bran Oil
- Is a nourishing, wholesome unsaturated oil, rich in natural vitamin E.
It has a natural SPF (Sun Protection Factor). It is particularly good
for dry and mature skin.
Rosehip Seed Oil
- Has successfully been used to reduce wrinkles and signs of premature
aging. It also helps to counter the drying effects of the sun. It is
also good for reducing the redness and formation of scar tissue and
assists with regeneration and repair of skin tissue.
Shea Butter
- Also known as African Karite Butter, is smooth, creamy and extremely
moisturizing and gentle on the skin.
Vegetable Glycerine
- Is humectant and emollient, making it an excellent moisturising ingredient.
Wheatgerm Oil
- (an anti-oxidant) contains Vitamins A, D and E. Extremely
nourishing for dry and damaged skin. |
